Most nail technicians price by looking at what the salon down the road charges. That is not pricing, that is guessing with extra steps — because you have no idea what their costs are, whether they are profitable, or whether they are about to close.

Almost nobody includes clean-down time, and it is often ten minutes on a forty-five minute service. Leave it out and you have quietly given away eighteen per cent of your day.

Your product cost is £4, the service takes an hour including clean-down, your overheads are £6/hour and you want to earn £22/hour. What is the minimum viable price?
